Clubs & Activities at FDES

  • students building with Legos At Frederick Douglass Elementary School we believe that providing students the opportunity to participate in clubs and activities is incredibly important.  Joining one or more of our exciting clubs or activities gives students many opportunities including:  making new friends, building respect and learning teamwork, gaining self-confidence, relieving stress, learning real-world skills, developing time management skills, and just having fun while you learn!

    After school enrichment clubs and activities are held throughout the school year on a seasonal basis.  Enrichment activities will vary.  Previous club offerings have included Spanish Club, Noetic Math, Soccer Steps, Builders Club, Book Club, Lego League Jr., Running Club, Wrestling, and many more.

    Note: After-school clubs and activities require a signed permission slip and/or prior registration in order to attend and are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Some clubs are by invitation only.

  • Lego League

    In Spring Lego League, students will be assigned a team and then work in these teams each week to carefully plan, create and prepare a solution to this year’s challenge. Lego League will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-4PM in February and March.  Lego League is by invitation only.  Please contact Ms. Almagro for more information.
