Mrs. Houser is a Winchester native and a graduate of Handley High School. During her career, she has worked in Winchester Public Schools as a teacher at the secondary level.

She comes to John Kerr from James Wood Middle School in Frederick County, Virginia, where she served as an Assistant Principal. Prior to James Wood Middle School, she served as an Assistant Principal in Shenandoah County, Virginia.  She has provided oversight of special education programming in her previous administrative roles and delights in working with diverse learning populations.

Mrs. Houser has a strong instructional background having served as an instructional coach and a math lead teacher for many years of her career. She is fluent in American Sign Language, holding a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Theology and Deaf studies, and a Master's degree in Secondary Education and Educational Leadership.  

Mrs. Houser is looking forward to building strong, positive working relationships with students, staff and families and is excited to join the John Kerr family and return to Winchester Public Schools.
